Celebrating Babies

Celebrating Babies by Ruth Meucci

What fun. Foals are here and theirs more to come. We’re back, after taking the first real vacation in many many years. We hiked, swam, rafted, zoomed thru the jungle, golfed, and ate ourselves into oblivion. What were we thinking. . . Perhaps that this is the last vacation in life. We’re married for 45 years. We have both overcome some potentially bad health issues, so it inspired a vacation. For all of us though, we are only visitors here. We need to celebrate every moment. Especially in the spring, when the beauty of new life is literally bursting fourth, we need to ease up, and look up from the battle. When asked how I’m doing, I need to train my heart and mouth to say; “Far better then I deserve”.

We are so excited about the new babies. No matter what they’d look like, they will still make me smile with delight. We are in the business of breeding for better ones every year so with effort, we do have to maintain a critical eye. With the help of family we are going to try to add some streaming video in keeping with the topics in these news letters. If you have a high speed connection, you may want to click on it. We also have streaming video on our pool cue web site, if you’re interested its: wwwmeuccicues.com. I hope that this doesn’t give anyone the false impression that we are computer literate. You can’t e-mail us and expect much activity. I’m not sure, but the last time I checked our kids got the e-mail and then faxed it to us a month or so later. Call us, Bob loves to chat.

Our furry yearlings will also be included in a short clip. Some are ¾ brothers of; Transcendant 2007 open World Champion. We have three generations of horses that do not have their pictures on our sales list. We will try to rectify that soon. Until then this brief forthcoming video, should include our three two year old colts, especially if someone out there wants a colorful clean up stud. They are by Multiple World and National Champion; Dynamic Kid To A Te. He’s N/N, and these colts, are out of Awe Striker genetics. Fit them up and they have the quality to win the big shows. Now is the time after A. I. is over to think about clean up. In their case “clean up”, may have a double meaning. I hope you can look past the fur and mud.

It’s still chilly, but just south of Memphis February 15th is the traditional time for earl birds to begin planting a few varieties of gardening plants. Dogwoods, cherries, redbuds, butter cups, azaleas, and camellias are beginning to add their notes of joy to the symphony and landscape of Gods love. Spring is a veritable testimony to faithfulness, and the celebration of life. For everyone that has planted their ryegrass in the late summer or fall of last year, we are really already enjoying the faithful, regenerating of spring in glorious green. We planted last fall and “Praise the Lord”, just barely escaped having the drought knock it out. In existing pastures we always use to extend the season by drilling small grains like Triticale, also clovers like; Louisiana S 1, Crimson, or Dutch. When we made the move from Senatobia, Mississippi to Byhalia, Mississippi, we no longer had any existing pasture. It has been a struggle, but it’s with great gratification we’ve begun to see the greening of the dozed ground slowly turn into permanent pasture. I often recall what our youngest daughter said when she was only around three. (Now 41?) While beholding Bob’s heavy weights and exercise equipment saying; “Is dis twoo stwuggle wif mommy?” Isn’t it interesting that most good things come thru struggle? Our example is in the new life of a butterfly, or our endeavors in this life; a baby human, or a little foal it is a periless journey full of joy and hope. Hope ya’ll are enjoying, by setting your internal remotes on fast forward during the ruff spots, and on pause during these special moments.
